Shrimp Boil!

22 Feb

As a full-time university student, I can get pretty lazy about cooking. As much as I try to be the mini Martha Stewart, some days, I’m just too brain-dead to attempt a recipe. Don’t get me wrong, I CAN cook. Cooking and baking are two of my favorite hobbies, but sometimes you just want food to magically appear in front of you, no effort required. Well…I’ve come up with a recipe that’s almost that easy.

Lazy Lady Shrimp (serves 2-4)

1 lb small red potatoes

2 ears of corn

½ lb frozen cocktail shrimp

1 ½ tsp Old Bay seasoning

Cocktail sauce (optional)

Fill a large pot with water and the Old Bay seasoning, bring to boil. Dump in the potatoes, whole. (If you cut them, you will get sludge in the end.) Boil for 10 minutes. Snap the ears of corn in half. Dump ‘em in the pot. Boil for 8 more minutes. Then add the shrimp, boil for a final 4 minutes. Drain, and serve with cocktail sauce.
